DIY Rainbow Birthday Party

What you need for the Ice Cream Cone Rainbow Cupcakes

Colored Cake Crumbs

Candies For Decorating

Candy Melt

Ice Cream Cones

Easy Rainbow Cupcake Pops

What you need:

Different Colored Ribbons (To tie around cake pop)

White Sticks

Candy Melt In Different Rainbow colors- to drizzle on top of cake pop

Chocolate Candy Melt in brown or white

Cake Mix

Styrofoam- to stick your cake pops in to dry

Just bake your cake mix according to the directions on the box. Then after it's done baking let cool and then crumble the cake up into a bowl. Take a small amount of crumbled cake crumbs and roll into small little balls and lay on wax paper. Stick in refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Take them out and then poke your stick through it. Next you will need to melt you candy melt that you bought in either a brown or white depending on what color you want the cake ball to be. Melt that and then dip your cake ball into the candy melt. Stick the stick down in the styrofoam so the candy chocolate melt can dry. Once dry then you can add some of your bright pretty colors to the cake ball. Just drizzle them on in squiggle lines. Stick back down in the Styrofoam and let dry. Once dry then tie your pretty colored ribbon on to finish it.

Rainbow Cake In A Jar

You need:

Cake Box Mix

Frosting

Sprinkles

Mason Jars

Food Coloring - Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red

Bowls for batter

Just mix your cake batter up according to the directions on box.

Divide the batter evenly into 5 bowls.

Add about 1 cup of batter in each bowl.

Add 15 drops of neon pink food coloring into the 1st bowl.

Add 15 drops of yellow to 2nd bowl.

Add 24 drops of green to 3rd bowl.

Add 7 drops of neon blue to the 4th bowl.

Add 3 drops of neon purple and 7 drops of blue and 8 drops of red.

Then spoon 1/4 cup of each color of batter into the jars.

Layer the colors in this order:

Purple- first

Blue

Green

Yellow

Pink- last

Bake about 35-40 at 350 degrees.

When done let cool and then add your icing and sprinkles on top.

Or you can do it the other way.

Bake cupcakes in different colors and then cut them into using some dental floss or a really sharp knife and then layer the different colors into the jar. This might be a lot easier. Just make sure you layer with icing in between each cupcake color.

The birthday girl needs a really cool rainbow dress for her birthday right? If you can sew then you can pink up some rainbow material and whip one right up for her. If you don't want to go to all that trouble or don't like to sew then just buy something rainbow like. You can always find cute homemade outfits on Etsy.

DIY Blue Princess Birthday Party

Is your little girl having a blue princess birthday party? Oh, goody! If you have a local dollar tree or dollar store close by you can save a ton of money by buying your glass vases and containers there. The dollar tree where we live has tons of glass items to choose from. Candy displayed in glass jars can really turn your princess into high class in a hurry. It will look like you spent a fortune on her party but really you just picked up some dollar items from the dollar tree. Dollar Tree even has cheap balloons that are fancy shaped and blue!

If you get your candy there try finding some whoppers, milk dudes, or malt balls depending on what you child likes and filling this in a very tall glass jar with a lid on top. Try tying some cheap blue ribbon around the top and sides of the glass jars. You can always hot glue them too. Try finding some cheap plastic princess crowns to embellish the table and your princes with. Blue frosting is a must for the cake and cupcakes. Bake some chocolate cupcakes and then add some blue frosting to the top and garnish those beautiful cupcakes with edible white sprinkles. Then just stick a chocolate swirled wafer stick down into each cupcake. Very simple yet fit for your little princess! You can also make chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting on top with a pretty blue decoration stuck in it. Try adding some tiny plastic princess tiara crown decorations to the top of each cupcake. You can even use the little plastic crown comb hair pieces. Just make sure you wash it before you stick it on the cupcake. Add a printable cupcake wrapper around the cupcakes to match the blue theme you have going.

Make some blue cake pops and stick them in a glass vase jar. Add a white stick through it and then pour some white or blue candy melts chocolate over it. You can pick them up from Walmart or order online. Pretty easy. Then just fill the jar with blue pebbles or blue jewel rocks and stick your cake pops down in them. Don't feel like going to all that trouble of making cake pops? Well, that's okay. Just try buying the white sticks and then sticking an already made treat on it. Simple and labor easy for you. Try buying some donuts and smearing blue frosting around them and then adding your white stick through it. Or use macrons and stick a stick through them.

Here is fun one right here... Take some chocolate swiss rolls and cover those goodies in some chocolate melt and then pour some white chocolate melt across the center and then add a cute little blue sugar flower. If you don't have sugar flowers or don't know how to make them then just add some blue gumballs on top or just sprinkle blue edible glitter or sprinkles on top. You will have folks thinking you have been slaving away all day in that kitchen with these tasty treats.

The cake could be so many different possibilities. You could do something elegant and do a ruffle cake. Or if she wants more of a fun princess cake try just baking a sheet cake and adding a large tiara on top with some edible glitter sprinkles over the frosting. You could do a barbie cake with the cake being her dress and a real barbie stuck down in the middle. Go to Youtube and watch some tutorials on how to do a barbie cake. These are really cute and not that hard to make. Or try a blue castle cake. All you need is some pointed ice cream cones to make it complete. Watch a tutorial online to see how cool these cakes are.

Blue chocolate covered strawberries would be cute to make. Just buy some blue candy melts and dip the strawberry in the melt and then spinkle with glitter.

Fill a large bowl with popcorn and sprinkle blue candy in it such as blue M&M's, Blue Jordan Almonds, Blue Sixlets, Blue Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds, etc. You should seriously check out www.Nuts.com, they sell candy by the color you want. Arrange some blue rock candy, blue lollipops, or blue candy sticks in tall glass vases. Bake some crown cookies and decorate them.

For the decorations try going to Oriental Trading and looking there for some blue hanging decorations or look online in other places that will match the blue princess theme. It just depends on what you child is wanting.

Use a punch bowl and fill with blue hawaiian punch. For drinks try using mason jars as glasses and fill them up with blue Hawaiian punch and tie a cute blue bow around it. Add blue striped paper straws to the drinks so they match.

For her little outfit just look for a princess costume and dress her up in it. You can find ones on Ebay or Amazon along with the tiara crown for pretty cheap. After she gets all fixed up in her dress for her birthday party then take some cute pictures of her next to some fun props. If she has a doll house have her stand next to it and pose her pretty smile for the camera and snap away. If she has some princess toys of any kind then have her hold them while your take pictures.
