DIY Woodland Birthday Party Dessert Idea

DIY Woodland Birthday Party Dessert
(A Food Bar Idea To Display Your Treats)

What you need for Dessert:
Almond Bark
Package of Chocolate
Peanuts
Cupcake Pan
Cupcake Liners
Crockpot
Sprinkles-optional

What you need for Wood Display:
Glass Dome- try searching online like www.glassdomes.com
Two Wood Slices-one 4" and one 5"
One 4" Wood Candle Holder
Try our Etsy shop for wood supplies at Church House Woodworks

In crockpot on high melt package any flavor almond bark and package of chocolate or some other flavor of chips. You could try white , mint, or peanut butter. When melted stir together then mix in nuts. Whatever kind you like. Drop by spoonfuls into mini cupcake papers. Or just onto wax paper. Set in cool place or refrigerator to cool. You would add sprinkles on top before they set to add color.

To make the display like I did in the picture all you need is some real wood pieces to make this work. I just used two small wood slices that were different sizes and a longer candle holder piece. You can just hot glue the wood together to hold and then I added a glass dome that I bought from the store on top. I used my 2" punch and punched out some yellow cardstock. You can hot glue or tape that to the wood. I wrote the words, "Take One!" on the front of it. It's that easy! You can use larger pieces of wood and even include moss from the store into your display to make it even more woodsy. :)

DIY 3D Snowcone Mouse Birthday Card

3D Snowcone Mouse Birthday Card

Here is a really cute way to make a 3D snowcone card.

First you will need 1 medium size Styrofoam ball.

Next cut the ball in half using a knife.

Spray paint the balls in the color you want. I did one pink and the other blue. You will only need 1 half so you will only need to spray paint one if you make 1 card.

Next you will need to cover the ball in some glitter paint. I used DecoArt Craft Twinkles in Cyrstal. This takes A LONG TIME TO DRY! So be prepared to wait if you coat to much on these.

Here is the finished snowcone tops with their glitter coat.

I cut out a small triangle of white card stock and hot glued the sytrofoam to the white card stock.

Next I took a 1 toothpick and cracked it into. And snipped a small piece off a stripped pink straw.

I hot glued the entire snowcone to the card. I stuck the piece of a toothpick down in the sytrofoam and then I stuck the straw down over it. You can hot glue the straw to the toothpick so it won't fall off.

Here is the finished 3D Snowcone Mouse Card. I just used a pink and white card from Basics www.pebblesinc.com. It's a cardmaking pad that comes with 18 different designs and 36 papers. They are 5.5 x 8.8 in (14x21.6cm). You just tear the long paper out and fold it in half. They make it super easy to make homemade birthday cards.

I printed my cute little mouse with a snowcone out on card stock and used my 3.5" punch from "The Paper Studio" to punch it out. I just hot glued it on the front of the card. I actually hot glued the mouse picture down first before I added the snowcone.

You might also like the Popcorn Mouse Card too. Check that out!

Here is the printable Mouse Template- printable version
This is a full 8.5x11 sheet and I sized the mouse on this to print just right.

And here is a clipart image of the mouse if you want to do something else with it.

DIY Popcorn Mouse Food Card

What you need:
Tape
Mouse Eating Popcorn Template- printable version
Sharpie Marker
Pencil
Yellow Card Stock
White Card Stock
Scissors
3.5" Paper Punch (Mine is from The Paper Studio)

To make this cute Popcorn Mouse Food Card I just tore out one of the red and white polka dot cards. I just folded it in half. I printed my mouse popcorn picture out and used my 3.5 inch punch on it. The template is an 8.5x11 paper and I made the mouse small enough to work if you just print the mouse on some card stock.

Then I used the punch on some yellow card stock too. I then layered the yellow card stock right behind the mouse eating popcorn picture and taped it together. I wrote the words "POPCORN" on the part of the yellow card stock that was sticking out.

Then I took some yellow card stock and drew 2 large popcorn images with a pencil. Then I outlined the popcorn with a black sharpie marker. Then I cut them both out and stuck them in each corner of the card using some tape.

Once done it sits right next to the bowl of popcorn!

You can make your own food cards just like this but do it to fit your theme. They make so many different folded card colors out there and there is so many images on the internet to print out to match your birthday party your having. Get creative and have fun!!!!

DIY Purple Ice Cream Cone Decorations

DIY Purple Ice Cream Cone
Bath Pouf Hanging Decoration

An easy and cheap way to make some super adorable ice cream cone decorations for a birthday party would be to use some bath poufs. You can find these at Walmart or even at the dollar store.

What you need:
Small Bath Pouf
Design Paper
Furry Pom Pom Ball
Stapler
Hot Glue Gun

This is so easy to make. I took some purple flower design paper that I had laying around and folded it into a cone and taped it.

Then I stuck my bath pouf down in the top of the cone. You can hot glue the little bath pouf in the cone if you want to make it more secure.
I put one staple in the back of the cone and made sure it went through the white hanging rope that was attached to the pouf. This would create the hanging loop I needed so I could hang it up somewhere.

Then just hot glue your little fuzzy pom pom ball to the top of the pouf. This is what it looked like when I was done. Try making a banner and making up tons of them and of course the sky is the limit with the color scheme you can use.

Now on to some really funny looking Ice Cream Cone Table Decorations.

This is a funny and really cute Ice Cream Cone table decoration that you could make up and set up. Just fill a tall glass with some fun decorations and then just add your bath pouf to the top.  Hot glue a fuzzy pom pom to the top and add some sticker eyes to the bath pouf to make it cute. I actually used clay ice cream ball scoops to fill this glass container. You can find them online in different places if you like them.

Here is another funny table decoration you can do. Just use a small glass candle holder and do the same thing. You can also go online and buy cheap Christmas ice cream cone hanging decorations and use those for your party. It's a cheap way to find some pretty cool stuff.

I made a cute hair clip with the ice cream ball scoops that I had and I also used a purple roll cake to add to the middle.

Just hot glue to a bare hair clip and then snap it in your little girls hair.

You can also add the ice cream balls to these type of hair clips too. I really like these. An easy way to incorporate the ice cream decorations into wearable accessories for your child.

I love these little Ice Cream Scoop Decorations! Aren't they just the cutest ever! Totally SWEET!
